Support, Strategy and Guidance Toward Change
My name is Aubrey Wendelboe, and I am an LCMHC in the Winston-Salem, NC area.
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Meredith College in 2000 and completed a Master's degree in Community Counseling from UNC-Greensboro in 2002.
After beginning work with teens and families in a local substance abuse agency in 2002, I became fully licensed in August of 2003. I opened my own private practice in 2006 and have served many individuals, youth and families from Forsyth and many neighboring counties.
I consider it a privilege to walk alongside all who sit across from me and regard the stories I hear with gentle respect. My passion is to work with families, as I believe that is where the most broad-reaching change can occur. I have learned to incorporate my family systems passion into my work with individuals as well, as I seek to understand and learn how my clients impact and are impacted by the families from which they come.
I work with a number of issues and concerns including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, relationship struggles and changes, emotional abuse recovery, divorce, parenting concerns, ADHD, life changes/transitions, career changes, grief and loss, school concerns, college preparation and adjustment, and marriage concerns.
It is my conviction that growth is possible for everyone, but that growth is directly tied to how diligently one is willing to work to attain it. I view my role as one who provides illumination to situations, support and validation of experiences, and strategies and guidance toward change where desired.
